"After 18 years of living in the Bay Area,  I recently made the move from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, a transition from urban to natural.  My life and landscapes have changed respectively.  Mountains, lakes, trees, rivers and meadows.  One cannot help but be inspired by the beauty of such surroundings.  Change of seasons, change of light.  Each day I see something new or in a different way.  This new series of natural landscapes is a substantial shift from my current body of work, requiring a more organic approach stylistically, getting away from hard architectural lines, and employing more andamento- the visual flow and direction created by the rows of tesserae.  I have begun a new life and so I breathe fresh air into my work.  New beginnings on many levels. "
